Product Description
Focusrite’s best-selling Scarlett range has enabled millions of musicians worldwide to record their creativity for almost a decade. World-class sound, compact intuitive design, crystal-clear conversion.
The simplest model in the range, the third-generation Scarlett Solo provides singer-songwriters with a reassuringly easy recording process. Equipped with high-performance 24-bit/192kHz AD-DA converters, Scarlett guarantees the same professional sound quality throughout the third-generation range.
Its features include a single upgraded third-generation Scarlett mic preamp: with a switchable Air setting to reproduce the Air effect of Focusrite’s original ISA mic preamp, giving your vocal recordings a brighter and more open sound.
One of the key upgrades for the 3rd Generation is the addition of USB-C connectivity. This reversible connection allows faster data transfer, easier connection and can be flipped – no more plugging in upside-down. And thanks to the USB-C’s inherent low latency, you can easily record and monitor everything in real-time with many of your favourite plug-ins in place.
The 3rd Gen’s inputs offer impressive headroom, making recording line-level instruments cleaner and easier than ever before. Balanced TRS outputs also eliminate speaker hum, while Focusrite’s iconic gain halos light up to indicate input levels, making it easy to get distortion-free recordings.
And as with all Focusrite products, you’ll also benefit from a 3-year warranty, award-winning customer support and membership of their Plug-in Collective offering free software downloads and generous discounts.

Our Verdict
There can be little debate about the Focusrite Scarlett Solo Gen 3’s quality in our opinion. For dealing with a single instrument or voice, it’s arguably the greatest USB interface. Almost everything you’ll need for a tiny studio or at home is provided. And a smidgeon more.
You can’t go wrong with a Focusrite Scarlett AI if you’re just getting started in the world of home recording. The business offers a number of devices that do the job well. Over the previous five years, they’ve progressed to a professional level.
